COHJA Lowers Horse Show Fees

In an effort to continue strong participation at COHJA horse shows despite current economic forecasts, the COHJA Horse Show Management team has decided to restructure overhead and tighten the belt as much as possible, passing the resulting savings on to YOU! What does this mean? Beginning at the Year End show coming Oct. 31st - Nov. 2nd the following rate changes will go into effect: Daily stalls will go from $45 to $35 per day; Weekend stalls will go from $80 to $65 for the weekend; and classes will go from $25 to $20 each. The Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center and our wonderful volunteer base will be instrumental in helping us carry over these new rates to the 2009 horse show season. We are committed to producing a quality horse show series for Central Oregon equestrians and sincerely hope these changes will ease the burden for everyone. ~Best Regards, Greggory Cobb

There are some exciting changes in store for COHJA this year. We will not be accepting memberships as an association in an effort to direct our focus toward putting on fun and competetive horse shows in Central Oregon. We will still track points according to USEF rules and award Year End prizes, so be sure to attend as many shows as you can to increase your chances of winning! Returning for 2008, we have added the AHJF Junior Hunter Challenge. The class is open to junior riders and is part of a new program designed to positively impact the future of the show hunter sport in America.
